Know what you read. To answer any questions, the books of the Apocrypha are not considered "inspired" as we would consider the biblical text to be.

 

They are segments of books written by third party individuals such as we have third party accounts of our own history. The degree of accuracy is questioned, but they tell stories that seem to be part of the everyday lives of the people.

 

Jesus never quoted from the books and the New Testament writers never speak of them. I included them on this site because I believe we should have an understanding of what they are, be familiar with the subject and be ready to give an answer to those who ask,

What you get from the reading of them is up to you. Remember they are not inspired nor part of the canon of scriptures, having said that I must admit neither is the book of Flavius Josephus, but we read and quote from it.
